Terms of service
Last updated October 23, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Dugout Crew ("we", "us") for using Dugout Crew's website, iPhone and Android apps and text messages (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. Children may appear on a team's roster, but they don't use the Service themselves.
- Give accurate information and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.
- One person per account. Families and coaches use the same kind of account.
2. Team managers
If you register a team or are made a manager, you're responsible for how your team uses the Service. In particular, you agree that:
- You have permission from each player's parent or guardian to add the player's name, photo and other information to the team.
- You'll only invite people who belong on the team, and you'll remove people who no longer do.
- You'll only ask Dugout Crew to text an invitation to someone who has agreed to get that text (see Text messages).
- You'll respond to reasonable requests from families to correct or remove their child's information.
3. Payments
- Each team season is a one-time payment of the price shown on the website when you pay (currently $19 per team, per season), made by one of the team's managers. Families, scorekeepers and other members never pay.
- A new manager's first 14 days are free, starting when they register their first team.
- Nothing renews or charges automatically. Before any charge, the website shows the amount and asks you to confirm.
- One payment covers a season for up to six months. When it isn't covered, the team is paused: nothing is deleted, and a manager can renew to bring it back.
- Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms. Prices may change, but a change never affects a season you've already paid for.
- If you think you were charged by mistake, contact us at [contact email: set Site:ContactEmail] and we'll look into it.
4. Text messages
Dugout Crew team invitations: when a team manager confirms you've agreed, Dugout Crew may text you an invitation to join their team. Each invitation is usually one text and may be resent a few times. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts and HELP for help, or contact us at [contact email: set Site:ContactEmail] . Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. How we handle mobile numbers is described in our privacy policy.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you add to the Service: photos, messages, rosters, schedules and other information ("your content").
- You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the Service for you and your team: for example, resizing photos and showing them to team members. This permission ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies in backups that expire on their own.
- Only post content you have the right to share, and only photos of people (especially children) you have permission to share with the team.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- harass, bully, threaten or embarrass anyone, especially players;
- post content that is illegal, sexual, violent or hateful, or that invades someone's privacy;
- send spam, or texts or invitations to people who haven't agreed to them;
- access teams or accounts that aren't yours, guess invite codes, or get around limits or security;
- disrupt or overload the Service, or copy it in bulk by automated means;
- break any law.
We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Report problems to [contact email: set Site:ContactEmail] .
7. The Service
- We're always improving Dugout Crew, so features may change. If we stop offering the Service, we'll give you reasonable notice first.
- The app works offline for game day and sends changes when it reconnects. Changes made offline may not reach the team until then.
- Stats, lineups and other results are only as accurate as what's entered.
- Dugout Crew, its name, logo, apps and website are ours. These terms don't give you rights to them beyond using the Service.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Deleting your account). We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or if required by law. Sections 5 to 11 continue to apply after your account is closed.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Dugout Crew helps organize a team; it isn't responsible for decisions about play, safety or supervision, which stay with the team's adults.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for material changes we'll tell you in the Service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
12. App Store and Google Play
If you got the app from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to using it on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's usage rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- You confirm you aren't located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and aren't on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and may enforce them against you.
If you got the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service also apply to your use of Google Play.
